Growing up at the foot of the sphinx my grandfather had been sent by his uncle Zaki Awyan (A renowned tour guide and wisdom keeper in the villages of Nazlet el Samman and Abusir prior to my grandfather) to collect artifacts found in the tombs of the Giza Plateau.

The Awyan family was one of the very few families in the entirety of Egypt that had a license in artifact dealings and selling. Due to his inquisitive mind Hakim Awyan was not satisfied with simply finding and collecting artifacts, he wanted to know and understand the meaning of them.
